It's a Draw

Admire the danger of it"

Persistence of Memory

Time Goes Away

He took me to the hillside
He liked to take me there
He took me every Saturday
He put flowers in my hair

And we laughed like my mother said she once did
With my father on his birthday
When they went swimming
And he took her hand into his
And he told her that he loved her
His words held meaning

How do we make these moments last?
How do we get them to stay?
When everything passes and time goes away

He took me to the theater
He liked to take me there
He took me every Sunday
We did our talking there

And we laughed like my mother said she once did
With her sister on her birthday when she was seventeen
They took her car out for a spin
Along the ocean with the top down
And life held meaning

How do we make these moments last?
How do we get them to stay?
When everything passes and time goes away

Anxiety

It's difficult to disclose personal information when:

1. your friends are busy
2. your friends are far away
3. they can't catch up so they can't understand
4. you just want to be alone all the time, you don't want to be anywhere else
5. you buried a body in the basement (yup, you definitely have a problem)

I wonder if these are the reasons why people seek psychiatric help and turn to anti-depressants and other "calming" drugs to make them feel better. Lack of friends? Or, lack of trust? I think everyone has some form of psychological disorder, we develop defense mechanisms and just learn to cope with it over time. Some become assholes, others become hypocrites. Some try really hard to do the right things and are still misunderstood. Well, it just sounds like every day life to me.

"I don't want to be here."

I guess the percentage who fail to handle their own minds either admit that they need help or are forced by their family/friends to get professional help. Which brings me to my next question:

What happens when they don't get help?

Last Night

Patrick: Why haven't you told him?

Joanna: You're right. I think once you know something like that, you can't... unlearn it.

Story

‎Your story is your soul. The longer you're with someone, the more you trust them, the more you're willing to tell. I believe when you find your real partner, you tell them everything until there's nothing left. Then you start from the beginning, only this time it's their story as well as yours.

Sorry guys, it's not at all a male friendly post. Well, unless you secretly wear mascara, go ahead.

I've been busy trying to "organize" a lot of things. Turns out it's more challenging to adhere to a regular schedule when you do freelance jobs. It's a very laid back set-up as opposed to a tight office schedule where I'm rarely absent or late going to work. To give you an idea, it's been like this:

  • You're assigned tasks with a deadline.
  • Nobody forces you to do anything.
  • If you don't meet the deadline because of procrastinating a lot, you tend to end up with more workload which you should have already done in the past week.

Inefficient, I know. My bad. I just have to learn from that experience. What I appreciate about it though is I'm learning to take initiative. I'm being responsible because I want to work professionally, not because some bitch boss is slave driving me. I just never thought I would actually appreciate people who try to remind me to do stuff all the time. And yes, I kind of miss working at an office. I'll see how things turn out and hopefully I can start looking for full-time work soon.

In other news, my friend Carol and I decided to create a movie discussion group on Facebook. Well, it was actually her idea and she asked me for a little help. Check it out and add us up, the group is open to everyone. Click the image above to enter the group. Anyone can join (but of course we'll kick you out if you post lewd and personally offending remarks, haha!).

The Saturday Movie Group is a venue where members can discuss interesting films, share insights and recommend top films to other members. Updated every Saturday, we choose 3 films each week. Drop by and share your thoughts or suggest your favorite film for discussion.

Stay tuned for more Happy Days

Some people don't really get tired of Weezer.
I don't know about you, but I miss 1995.
